The award for noble sentiments silenced by the Labour Conference apparatus, which tell us so much about the Zeitgeist..... goes to Phil Booth of No2ID.
It seems they refused him access because of problems with his pass. According to the Beeb Phil’s comment was
“If this is how they are organising their ID for their own party conference, how the heck are they going to organise ID cards for 50 million people?”
Well spoken, Friend. The admission processes for the Labour conference are so convoluted and intrusive that I refuse to go on that basis alone.
Two Wibbies:
1. Wibbi the Labour conference understood that its admittance procedures say more about the way they want to run the country as anything spoken from the podium?
2. Wibbi they FINALLY engaged in debate or discussion with Phil Booth, whose position is greatly strengthened by the fact that he understands a great deal of what he is talking about? Meg Hiller could learn so much.
