Coming soon: Wikileaks. For those moved to take open government into their own hands: an encrypted, untraceable way to puts documents into an uneditable, untraceable wiki. Thus the Internet community challenges secretive, repressive and authoritarian regimes. It may be a pretty substantial challenge to those - such as the UK - that call themselves open but aren’t yet as mature in FoI as the likes of Finland.
Imagine the uses: posting up early drafts of dodgy dossiers, reveal the news-burying emails, show how stats are manipulated and funds diverted. But imagine the abuse...gross violations of privacy, health records, love letters, breaches of confidence. This is going to take the Mother of all moderation policies. And many powerful people will try to ensure this never happens.
* Cheers Ben
