Sousveillance snares racist policeman

In an exemplary piece of sousveillance a 16 year old Kurd recorded two and a half minutes of swearing, abuse and threats of racist violence by the arresting police on his mobile phone. After this was played in court the evidence of the arresting officer was dismissed as unreliable, and the suspect went free.

“Respect is not something you get by putting on a uniform,” commented the judge. “I believe respect should be earned.”

Rather than assuming we want universal central control, Wibbi...the techniques of surveillance were used in a balanced way to provide reciprocal transparency?
