What should Obama’s US CTO do?

What should be the priorities of President-Elect Obama’s first-ever US CTO? Well, you can vote on it here. ObamaCTO is an independent site. The lower-ranking suggestions include unleashing Godzilla and defending the nation with frickin’ laser sharks.

But the top suggestions are, well, pretty much on the way to Ideal

10,646 votes: Ensure the Internet is widely accessible & network neutral:
8276 votes: ensure our privacy and repeal the patriot act.
6873 votes: Repeal the Digital Milennium Copyright Act (DMCA)
4580 votes: Open Government Data (APIs, XML, RSS)

This is a rather better version of what we did quite well for Ian Watmore four years ago and rather less well for John Sufolk two years ago. Real life seems to be turning into IdealGov on acid. And it’s one US election we can all vote in. Hurrah!
