WRITTEN ON May 27th, 2007 BY Ruth Kennedy AND STORED IN Foundation of Trust, What do we want?, Wibbipedia/MindtheGap

I made two online transactions today. One with a well-known high street chemist, one with the DVLA to renew my tax disc. Both were quick, efficient, easy. However, I was struck by how hard Boots worked to make me feel safe online, telling me what it was and wasn’t going to do with my personal data, and when it came to payment, telling me that if I didn’t want the merchant to know any of my payment details, I could pay using PayPal. Once I got to the payment section on the DVLA site, there were no motifs to remind me that it was a secure site, they requested my payment details (no paypal option here) AND an email address but offered no confirmation of the privacy policy.
WIBBI…. oh, let’s not go over all that old ground again. Just read the Trustguide, like we said last time.

Do you rate Trustguide as a source of knowledge ?

I do (speaking in Ruth’s absence on leave). I think it’s an intelligent research methodology which takes us deeper into the subject, and I find its lessons intuitive and trenchantly expressed.

What do you think?
