Background: I am trying to convince the MP for Harwich and Clacton (Douglas CARSWELL) that it is a bad idea to sell publicly owned tennis courts to build privately owned flats
Good news:
Douglas has a website and I can email him
Great news:
Douglas emails me back!
Bad news: He will only reply to me using the postal service and refuses to use email.
Not so great news: He will also not answer my questions as I do not live in his constituency.
“There is a Parliamentary convention that an MP only deals with people living in their constituency”.
WIBBI it was ok for me to care about an issue that was NIMBY
I knew about the parliamentary convention that MPs don’t get involved in other MPs’ constituencies, but I suspect he made up the ‘don’t talk to furriners’ one…
