The moderator is off on hols for the next two weeks. And I’ve been more than distracted for the last few. So I’ve been quiet, and will be quieter still. But there’s more going on than ever: more to celebrate (Power of Info, US developments) and more to deplore (more data sharing and the onward goosestep of the Benighted ID Scheme).

Sir Bonar is on gardening leave after an unfortunate incident in an Arabic-themed nighclub which he attended, we understand, as a guest of Experian. But not before he got the “astral soup clause” – 152 – slipped into the Coroners’ and Justice Bill. The term for his global data sharing idea is inspired, he tells me, by Euphorbia’s potage of leftovers, which tastes heavenly in the form of a “chabrol” with a good dash of claret.

In his and my absence listed authors should feel free to step up to the crease, as we say in this country. Please respect the house rules; they’re in your hands.
