The 18million-views-a-month, all singing government portal – direct.gov.uk – has launched an RSS feed on swine flu .

All jolly good stuff of course but there are a couple of “buts”. First that there’s something very wrong when the press release quotes Jayne Nickalls, Directgov CEO as saying “we carry regular updates and information relating to swine flu. We will be constantly updating the RSS feed and the website as soon as information becomes available.” Please don’t tell me that managing the RSS feed is a manual process??? Second that, and I am a self-confessed info junkie and RSS addict, there appear to just three or four RSS feeds on the whole site.

(You can of course sign up to IG via rss here and to Kable’s feed, here).
